Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of Brunswick County, North Carolina invites interested parties to submit proposals to receive an exclusive five year contract to provide curbside recycling collection to single-family, two-family, multi-family dwelling units, and businesses in Brunswick County, North Carolina. Sealed written proposals must be mailed or hand delivered to Brunswick County Operation Services, 179 March 9th, 1764 Dr. NE, P.O. Box 249, Bolivia, N.C. 28422 by 4:30pm on Wednesday March 31st, 2010. Any Proposal received after the specified time will not be opened or considered for award.

Brunswick County explicitly reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals received or to make an award, which, in the opinion of the County, best meets the needs, requirements, and interests of the citizens of Brunswick County.

It is the desire of Brunswick County to consider Proposals from experienced and financially sound companies. Services for which proposals are requested are:

1. Curbside recycling collection to be picked up every other week throughout the County for approximately 76,000 single-family, two-family, multi-family dwelling units, and businesses in Brunswick County, North Carolina.
2. Recycling collection from the four manned convenience sites throughout Brunswick County as well as the government center and landfill.
3. Recycling collection from all schools located in Brunswick County.

Sealed proposals will be received informally until 3:00 PM on March 18, 2010, in the Office of the Brunswick County Public Utilities Department in Building G at the Brunswick County Government Complex at 20 Referendum Drive NE in Bolivia, North Carolina, for the construction required to INCREASE THE HEIGHT OF THE EXISTING RAMPAGE ELEVATED TANK. A certified bid tab will be issued within several days afterwards.

A general description of the work includes: Increasing the height of the existing 400,000 gallon elevated storage tank at Navassa, NC, by approximately 44.13 feet. The work will also include painting, electrical, and other related activities. The foregoing description shall not be construed as a complete description of all work required.
