REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR
CRUSHING SERVICES FOR LAND CLEARING AND INERT DEBRIS

Brunswick County is requesting proposals (RFP) to provide crushing services for Land Clearing and Inert Debris (LCID) collected and stockpiled at the site of the Brunswick County Construction and Demolition Landfill in Supply, North Carolina.

All proposals are to be hand delivered or post-marked no later than September 17th, 2010 by 4:30 p.m. One (1) original and two (2) copies of the complete proposal for a total of three (3) sets should be submitted. Each should be clearly marked Proposal Response – Crushing Services for Land Clearing and Inert Debris.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Grinder Pump Station Packages

Pursuant to General Statutes of North Carolina, Section 143-129 as amended, sealed bids will be received for the purchase of the following: Grinder Pump Station Packages

Each supplier submitting grinder pump station packages shall provide the appropriate pre-approval bid submittal packet no later than 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 (our office is closed Monday, September 6, 2010). Failure to provide a complete and thorough bid submittal by this date shall render their pre-approval request non-responsive and will not be considered. Bids will be received from pre-approved suppliers by the County of Brunswick until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010, in the Office of Public Utilities Administration, Utilities Operations Center, 250 Grey Water Road NE, Supply, North Carolina, and publicly opened and read aloud shortly thereafter.

All bids must be in a sealed envelope marked BRUNSWICK COUNTY GRINDER PUMP STATION PACKAGES. Bids not so marked may not be considered and may be returned to the sender unopened. The bid should also clearly indicate the name and address of the firm submitting the proposal.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY INVITATION TO BID

Sealed proposals will be received until 3:00 PM on September 30, 2010, in the Office of the Brunswick County Public Utilities Department at the Brunswick County Utilities Operations Center at 250 Grey Water Road NE in Supply, North Carolina, for the construction of the FY 2010 Water Distribution System Improvements; and shortly thereafter, the bids will be opened publicly and read aloud. The contract shall be Single Prime.

A general description of the work includes: 5,545 linear feet (L.F.) of 12” diameter water line, a 771 L.F. 8” water line, and a 22,238 L.F. water line that consists of 4,000 L.F. of 12” diameter water line and 18,238 L.F. of 16” diameter water line, with a 454 L.F. 12” water line branching from the 16” diameter water line into the Seawatch residential development.

Pre-Bid Meeting: An open pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested bidders and vendors on September 9, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. at the Brunswick County Utility Operations Center at 250 Grey Water Road NE in Supply, North Carolina. Attendance is not mandatory.

Cash payments for plans and specifications will not be accepted. No refund for any Contract Documents shall be made and no partial sets of the Contract Documents will be issued. Brunswick County reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals. A 5% bid bond or deposit is required. Brunswick County has implemented a Minority Business Enterprise Policy that requires Contractors to exhibit a good-faith effort to contact minority business subcontractors whose work on the project would represent 10% of the total value of the work.
