Who Program Serves
The Adult Health program is available to those persons who meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Male or Female (using permanent method of birth control)
- 21 to 65 years of age
- 100% (max.) federal poverty level
- Brunswick County resident
Services Provided
During the screening exam, a nurse:
- Checks cardiovascular health.
- Checks total cholesteral.
- Checks blood sugar.
- Checks hematocrit.
- Performs dip stick urine only.
- Performs pap smear.
- Screens skin for cancer.
- Screens breasts for cancer.
- Screens cervix for cancer.
- Screens prostate for cancer.
- Screens testicles for cancer.
- Screens colon for cancer.
- Screens lungs for cancer.
- Screens mouth for cancer.
- Provides immunizations, if due.
- Provides some limited diagnostic tests for abnormal results.
- Provides health counseling (health educator).
Any abnormal findings are referred to a doctor.

Fees
Fees based on patient's ability to pay (sliding scale).
Medicaid accepted. However, Medicare nor private insurance can be billed for these services.
