The Brunswick County Child Services Coordination program serves
children and their families who are at risk or have chronic illness,
developmental and/or socio-emotional concerns. Through referrals from
friends, family, neighbors, churches, hospitals, agencies, etc., the
Child Services Coordination Program contacts families to offer
assistance and to provide linkage to the appropriate agencies /
resources to enhance child's condition.
Who Program Serves
The Child Service Coordination Program is available to those
families with children who meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Male or Female
- Birth to 5 years of age
- At risk for developmental delay; mental, physical, and/or emotional concerns.
- (No financial requirements)
- Brunswick County resident
Services Provided
During the home visit, a program coordinator:
- Evaluates the child's development through the use of a screening
tool that evaluates gross motor, fine motor, and social adaption.
- Assesses parent-child interaction.
- Teaches ways to encourage and stimulate development; behavior; discipline; self-esteem.
- Provides medical, behavorial, and developmental information, as needed.
- Refers parents to appropriate agencies and resources needed by the family or child.
Program Hours
Days: Monday - Friday of each week
Time: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Home Visits: made according to family's work/school schedules.
Appointment: by referral only.
