The Brunswick County Maternal Outreach program is designed to help the Baby Love and Child Service Coordination
programs through the use of the Maternal Outreach Worker (MOW). The MOW
provides service to a select group of pregnant women before their 28th
week of pregnancy, and continues to support the woman and her family
until the baby is 1 year old. MOWs work closely with Maternity Care Coordinators and Child Service Coordinators.
Who Program Serves
The Maternal Outreach program is available to those persons who meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Pregnant Female
- Any age
- Brunswick County resident
Services Provided
The following services are provided through the Maternal Outreach program:
- Advise and encourage the pregnant woman to receive early prenatal care.
- Help the pregnant woman keep all prenatal and well-baby appointments.
- Teaches healthy behavors for mother and baby.
- Promotes the planning of future pregnancies.
- Patient Education
- Enrolls pregnant women in Medicaid and WIC.
