The Brunswick County Maternity Care Coordination program is designed
to assist pregnant women in finding services to meet their needs during
pregnancy. The Maternity Care Coordinators are highly-skilled social
workers who help the woman during pregnancy and up to 2 months after
the birth of her child. The Maternity Care Coordinator can help the
mother get WIC (aid for women with infant children), food stamps,
Medicaid, support and counseling, and parenting education.

- Assistance with Social Services benefits (e.g., TANF, Medicaid, food stamps, transportation)
- Health Check
- Health Choice Insurance
- Information about other services (e.g., housing, child care, employment, schooling)
Baby Love
Maternity Care Coordination services are available at the Brunswick County Health Department by a public health social worker. MCC provides counseling and case management to at-risk low-income pregnant women to ensure healthy babies are born in Brunswick County. Patients could be eligible for home visits by a public health nurse during their postpartum period and also during their pregnancy if requested by a physician. Maternal Outreach Workers also work closely as a link between MCC services and Child Service Coordination. Eligibility for this service is based on MCC case Management.
