The Brunswick County Maternity Health Services is a program that offers pregnant women comprehensive prenatal care by physicians and certified nurse midwives. In addition to prenatal care, patients are offered childbirth and maternity classes. Patients may deliver at New Hanover Regional Medical Center or Brunswick Community Hospital.
Who Program Serves
The Maternity Health Services program is available to those persons who meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Female
- Any age
- Positive pregnancy test
- Brunswick County resident
Services Provided
Prenatal care includes:
- An initial complete physical exam and follow up exams
- A Pregnancy Care Manager
- Health education
- Nutritional services (see also WIC page)
- Assistance applying for Medicaid, if necessary
After Birth Services Provided
After the baby's birth, the following services are available:

Fees are based on patient's ability to pay (sliding scale).
Medicaid and private insurances are also accepted.
