The Brunswick County Parks & Recreation Department sponsors
several camps. The camps are designed to foster fellowship, fun, and
fitness.

**Day camp registration is subject to availability and will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Payment must be received at the time of registration. Participants may participate in a maxium of two weeks. **
Activities include: Swimming, water parks, miniature golf, pottery creations, skating, Ripley's Aquarium, MagiQuest, and more!! Participants will meet at the Brunswick County Government Complex in Bolivia, NC each morning of camp. Camp will run Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm. Crime Scene Investigation Camp
Presented by: Brunswick County Sheriffs Office & Brunswick County Parks and Recreation
July 23rd through July 25, 2008
Ages 12-17
9:00am till 1:00pm
Forensic investigation camp with hands on experience in lifting fingerprints, collecting evidence. The camp will include a trip to New Hanover County Crime Lab where campers will be exposed to equipment used by the New Hanover CSI unit. Plus a trip to Cape Fear Community College where CSI campers will do hands on experiments in the Chemistry lab.
Registration is limited to 20 participants!

Camp Cost: $30/per investigator
Snack & drink included each day, lunch provided on Wednesday - all other days please bring bag lunch!
Sea Trail Activity Camp
Co sponsored by Sea Trail Activity Center and Brunswick County Parks and Recreation

Time: 9am until 3pm, extended hours available for an additional fee.
$65/per camper/per week
Camp activities include swimming, sport activities, crafts, movies and games. Campers will meet and stay at the Sea Trail Activity Center in Sunset Beach.
Lunch will be provided on Wednesday, all other days please bring bag lunch. Snacks and drinks will be provided in the afternoon.
Space is limited to 20 campers per week. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and is ongoing.

Cheerleading Camp
Open to girls 8-12 years of age; must be 8 by September 1st of the current year and cannot turn 12 by September 1st of the current year.
County teams:

Shallotte - Buccaneers, Pirates
Lockwood Folly - Chiefs
Each team holds at least 10 girls. Open registration will begin on Monday, May 19, 2008. Registration forms are available at the government complex or online. Registration requirements are: a copy of the cheerleader's birth certificate, a completed registration form and registration fee of $100.00. Registration may be done in person or through the mail. The registration fee covers parks and recreation fee and a camp fee.
A three-day summer camp will be held on Tuesday, July 8 through Thursday, July 10, 2008, and is mandatory for all teams. Teams cheer for the parks and recreation football teams, and games begin in September and end in December. Teams will have practice weekly throughout the season. Attendance at practice, camp, and games are mandatory. Uniforms and pom-poms are provided by parks and recreation. Teams are responsible for additional items, such as shoes, socks, and other gear. Children must be registered through the county as a youth cheerleader to attend camp.
