The Brunswick County Parks & Recreation Department offers a number of programs especially for seniors. The programs offer fun, fellowship, and fitness.

Price includes cart and green fees, cart attendants, prizes and refreshments.

Refreshments are distributed ONCE during tournament play, except for September 9th, when they will be given at Registration.

Participant must provide clubs. Preregistration is required by calling Khrystye at 910-253-2677, or email your name, phone number, and age to Khrystye Haselden. Registration is not complete until tournament fee is paid.

1. Open to Brunswick County Seniors, age 55 years and older.
2. Age groupings: 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, etc. Awards are given in each age group for males and females for the lowest gross score.
3. Price for play will typically include cart and green fees, tips for cart attendants, and refreshments. Some courses do not allow distribution of refreshments. Due to a number of factors, refreshments will be given only once around the course. KEEP IN MIND THAT REFRESHMENTS ARE LIMITED. PLEASE ONLY TAKE A REASONABLE AMOUNT.
4. Registration for a golf tournament will take place the Friday after the current month's tournament. Pre-registration is required. Please e-mail your request to khaselden@brunsco.net or call (910) 253-2677 and leave a voicemail. To be fair to everyone, we will not accept early e-mails or calls to register. When registering, please have players' names and correct ages/birth date. Also, be sure to leave a phone number where you can be reached to confirm your entry.
5. Payment must be in the form of cash or check made payable to the golf course during the sign-in hour prior to play. Credit cards cannot be accepted. If you are with a group, designate one player in your group to gather payment from each person to bring to sign-in. This will help expedite the sign-in process and shorten your wait time in line.
6. Participants may choose their foursome, but will compete within each individual age group.
7. Men 55-69 will play from the white tee, men 70 and over will play from the yellow tee, and women will play from the red tee.
8. 5 to 5 1/2 hours will be allotted for play. The may change in inclement weather conditions. Golf course pro will make final decision.
9. Scorecards must include last name, first initial and age to be eligible for prizes.
10. Prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners.
11. Players MUST be present to claim prizes. Winner's name will be announced twice. If there is no response, the prize will go the next lowest scorer.
12. Brunswick County Gator Senior Games Golf Tournament is included in this series and will be held at Brierwood Golf Course on April 29. This tourney is for Brunswick Gator Sr. Games participants only. Fee is paid with registration. Registration packet is due by 3/7/08. Call for details 910-253-2670 or email khaselden@brunsco.net

½ Day Fishing Adventure for Seniors
Brunswick County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a day trip for people 55 years and older to Calabash for a ½ day fishing adventure Friday, September 19, 2008. The cost is $40 per person (for fishing) and $30 per person (if not fishing). Trip includes transportation from Bolivia/Shallotte, refreshments and all equipment, bait, and tackle. Day Trip & Cruise to Beaufort, NC for Seniors
Brunswick County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a day trip and cruise for people 55 years and older to Beaufort, NC on Thursday, October 2, 2008. The cost is $40 per person and includes roundtrip transportation from Bolivia, narrated cruise tour, and lunch aboard the boat. Registration required by 9/12/08. Holiday Day Trip to “Legends in Concert” in Myrtle Beach, SC
Brunswick County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a holiday trip for people 55 years and older to “Legends in Concert” in Myrtle Beach, SC on Saturday, December 6, 2008. The cost is $30 per person. Trip Includes roundtrip transportation from Bolivia or Shallotte, and admission to show. Space is limited. Registration required by 11/20/08. November 10-13, 2008
Brunswick County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a 4 day/3 night trip to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN, November 10-13, 2008 for Brunswick County residents 55 years of age and older. Trip includes roundtrip charter bus transportation from Bolivia, 3 night’s hotel accommodations, 3 continental breakfasts, Smoky Mtn Christmas at Dollywood, “The Miracle” musical theater production, dinner at Old Mill Restaurant, lunch and tram ride at “Ober Gatlinburg”, lunch at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant, shopping and much more.
