UPDATED: Brunswick County Government Offices Closed Friday; Tax Payment Options


Brunswick County government offices will remain closed Friday, Jan. 5 due to inclement weather.

This includes the Brunswick County Tax Office. The deadline to pay 2017 real and personal property taxes is Friday, Jan. 5. Payments can be made without accruing interest in person on Monday, Jan. 8, when offices re-open (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Payments can also be made without accruing interest if paid online or postmarked on or before Friday, Jan. 5.

Online payments can be made by e-check at no charge, or online by credit or debit card (fees do apply). Payments can be mailed to P.O. Box 29, Bolivia, NC 28422.

The Brunswick County landfill, parks and libraries will also be closed through Saturday, re-opening on Monday, Jan. 8. Convenient Sites will be closed both Friday and Saturday. Waste Industries will resume regular curbside collection routes on Monday, due to road conditions and to ensure employee safety. Customers on the routes that were missed this week can put out the extra garbage on their regular collection day next week at no charge (please have it bagged and by the can by 6 a.m.). Recycling regularly scheduled to be picked up on Thursday, Jan. 4 will be picked up on Thursday, Jan. 11; recycling regularly scheduled to be picked up on Friday, Jan. 5 will be picked up on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Brunswick County Courts has announced that the Courthouse will be closed Friday, Jan. 5. If any Brunswick County resident wishes to apply for a 50B or 50C Domestic Violence Protective Order, they can do so at either the Bladen or Columbus County Courthouses.
