Due to predicted rainfall and road conditions, the Brunswick County Government Offices will be closing at noon on Friday, Aug. 3.
The National Weather Service is predicting more rain to fall, starting in Calabash at 1 p.m. and spreading throughout Brunswick County for next two to three hours. One-quarter to one-half of an inch of rain is expected with some areas receiving as much as 1.5 to 2 inches.
Therefore, in an abundance of caution, County government will close offices for all non-essential employees at noon today, Friday, Aug. 3.
All citizens should note that road conditions can change quickly, and should not attempt to drive through flooded water. A map with road closures marked is available online at http://www.brunswickcountync.gov/road-closures/ and travelers may call 511 for road condition updates, but travelers should remember that road conditions can potentially change quicker than information can be updated.
