Brunswick County Planning is holding two public input meetings to receive ideas and input about a new project to create a network of greenways and blueways throughout the County.
The greenways and blueways would create a network of trails, help preserve natural resources, and provide a tool for residents and visitors to find trails and water access sites. They would help connect parks, open spaces, historic and cultural sites, population centers, shopping centers, water access sites and beaches.
The printed plan will be available in a format that is outdoor-friendly for use by residents and visitors, including walkers, bicyclists and paddlers. It will provide a county-wide map showing the greenway and blueway network with smaller insets denoting specific features, destinations, and connections within municipalities.
Public input meetings will be held on Tuesday, Mar. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Town Creek Elementary School (6330 Lake Park Drive SE in Winnabow, 28479) and on Wednesday, Mar. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Shallotte Town Hall (110 Cheers Street in Shallotte, 28470).
