Joy Wade has called Wilmington home for the past 37 years. She loves being involved with folks in her community in a variety of ways. She taught in the New Hanover County School System for 17 years. Since 2012 Joy has served as the Eastern NC Program Manager for Pretty In Pink Foundation located in Wilmington. During these 5 ½ years she has had the privilege to provide support to local breast cancer patients financially and through a variety of support services as a part of Pretty In Pink Foundation. Most recently, Joy has developed an educational initiative called Your Breasts: What’s Normal? What’s Not? (WNWN) which has already been shared with more than 350 ladies and men ages high school through senior citizen. As a certified MammaCare Breast Self-Exam Instructor and the Program Manager of WNWN her goal is to share both tactile and visual skills “to everyone with breasts” so that every person can be their own very best breast health advocate.
