System Pressure Advisory Rescinded: Portion of Bethel Road

12.01.2018

Based on the laboratory analysis of water samples collected on December 3, 2018 from 5798 Bethel Rd to the end of Bethel Rd and adjoining subdivisions in between, Brunswick County Public Utilities water users in this area are hereby notified that it is no longer necessary to boil water or use bottled water for human consumption.  The system has resumed normal operations.

This notice is issued and effective on December 4, 2018.

Communicable Disease Control

The Communicable Disease Clinic prevents the spread of infectious diseases in the community by investigating cases and outbreaks, reporting data, and implementing prevention and control measures.

Reporting a Communicable Disease

To report a disease, fax the NC Communicable Disease Report Form to 910-253-2386 or call 910-253-2250.

Reportable Disease List for North Carolina

The diseases and conditions that are reportable by law are declared to be dangerous to the public health and must be reported within the time period specified after the disease or condition is reasonably suspected to exist.

Medical Community Alerts

Brunswick County Health Services distributes health alerts and other advisories to the local medical community.  This includes information about a threat that has been identified, or a potential threat that could affect the community.  If you are a medical provider, pharmacist, or veterinarian interested in receiving our “fax blast” alerts, please contact Marjorie Rayl.

Rabies Control

Brunswick County Animal Services is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for animal bite investigations and for reporting suspected rabid animals.  You can reach an animal control officer Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 10am-2pm by calling the shelter at 754-8204.  After office hours or on holidays, call 911 and they will dispatch an on-call officer.
