RALEIGH — Weather permitting, traffic on U.S. 17 North just south of Leland in Brunswick County will shift on Thursday, Feb. 21, to newly constructed lanes of the highway and the existing northbound lanes will become a two-lane service road.
At the time of the conversion, the service road will be closed between Hewitt-Burton Road and Bridle Way to allow for installation of pipes under the existing roadway.
Residents of the Stoney Creek and Snee Farms subdivisions will be able to access U.S. 17 by traveling south on the new service road to the crossover at Zion Church Road.
Motorists are advised to use caution in the area because of the new traffic pattern.
