Kirstie Dixon has been named the next Brunswick County Planning Director.
Dixon started with Brunswick County as a Planner II and Supervisor of Central Permitting in 2004. Since then, she has held several positions within the County’s Planning Department, most recently working as Planning Manager. Dixon has over 17 years of experience with municipal and county planning.
“I’m really excited and honored for this great opportunity, and I look forward to leading the planning team into the future,” Dixon said.
Mike Hargett, the County’s current Planning and Economic Development Director, had previously announced he would retire at the end of 2017.
“I appreciate Kirstie Dixon’s approach to sound planning principles and her skill in adapting them to real world needs and support of our property owners and developers. She provides excellent, pro-active customer support,” said County Manager Ann Hardy.
