On June 4, 2018, the Brunswick County Commissioners accepted an offer of $2,158.00 for Parcel 173GA015, located on Carolina Road, Boiling Spring Lakes, and being described on a deed recorded in Book 00689, Page 0750 of the Brunswick County Register of Deeds.  The bid was secured by a 5% bond on June 27, 2018.

This notice, published on July 5, 2018 will announce a 10-day upset bid period to allow any other bid to be submitted for consideration by Brunswick County.  Any bid submitted must exceed the current bid by 10% of the first thousand, and 5% of the remainder.  The minimum qualifying bid for this period is $2,315.90.  The bid deposit may be made with cashier’s check or money order made payable to Brunswick County.  Any bid not accepted will be returned.

Persons wishing to upset the offer that has been received shall submit a sealed bid, to include their written offer and a bid deposit amount equal to 5% of their offer.  Bids shall be sealed in an envelope marked as “SEALED BID – Parcel 173GA015”, and submitted to the office of the Clerk to the Board Commissioners, Room 301, David R. Sandifer County Administration Building, 30 Government Center Drive, NE, Bolivia, N.C. 28422, or by mail to PO Box 249, Bolivia, NC 28422, by 5:00 p.m., July 16, 2018 (mailed bids must be postmarked by the deadline).  At that time the Clerk to the Board shall open the bids, if any, and the highest qualifying bid will become the new offer.  If there is more than one bid in the highest amount, the first such bid received will become the new offer.  A new bid period will then be initiated and a notice like this one will be published soliciting new offers.  The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
