Planning Board

The Planning and Community Development Department supports and facilitates the Brunswick County Planning Board, the Brunswick County Board of Adjustment, and the Brunswick County Technical Review Committee (TRC). Each Board/Committee has different duties, functions, and meeting schedules. 

The Planning Board meets on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers in the David R. Sandifer Administration Building. The Planning Board reviews and makes recommendations on ordinance text amendments and rezonings, and hears and takes final action on variances from subdivision requirements, major subdivision preliminary plats, major site plans, planned unit developments (PUDs), and zoning vested rights determinations.

The public is welcome to attend Planning Board meetings. If you wish to speak or make a presentation at a meeting, you must be placed on the agenda. To do so, contact the Planning and Community Development Office by the noted deadline. To view application deadlines, click here.
