MEDIA RELEASE

BOLIVIA, N.C. – Brunswick County Planning invites community members to share their input on the future of the Brunswick County Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) during three community meetings in January.

Brunswick County wants community input on updating and modernizing the existing UDO. Input gathered at the community meetings will help guide growth and development in the unincorporated areas of Brunswick County.

The three in-person community meetings will have an informal, open house-style format. No formal presentation will be given. Planning staff will be available for discussion and to answer questions between 6 to 8 p.m. at the following locations:

Feedback from the meetings will be incorporated into revisions to the UDO, which will be considered by the Planning Board and Board of Commissioners at a later date. The updated UDO aims to reflect current trends and best practices, ensure compliance with legal requirements, and support the goals established in the Blueprint Brunswick Land Use Plan.

Individuals with questions or who cannot attend the meetings are encouraged to reach out to Brunswick County’s Planning & Community Enforcement department.
