Scheduled Water Outage Advisory RESCINDED – Abbington Oaks, Southport
Based on the findings of the laboratory analysis of water samples collected on 06.17.2025, Brunswick County Public Utilities water users located at:
- All addresses along Abbington Oaks Way SE
are hereby notified that it is no longer necessary to boil water or use bottled water for human consumption. The system has resumed normal operation. Customers have been notified by posted sign.

Scheduled Water Outage
Due to water a water line connection associated with the DOT project on Highway 211, Brunswick County water customers in Abbington Oaks, Southport, will be out of service beginning at 9:00 am on 06.16.2025 to allow for the work to be done. Service is expected to be restored before 5:00 pm on 06.16.2025. This outage affects the addresses listed below:
- All addresses along Abbington Oaks Way SE
Consumers will need to store water in containers during this outage, as water service will be temporarily turned off during this time. Please note that multiple fire hydrants will be out of service during this time. Once water has been restored, Brunswick County Public Utilities and the NC Division of Water Resources advise consumers to boil all water or use bottled water for human consumption until further notice. Consumption includes drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
Approximately one hundred forty-four (144) residential connections will be affected. Customers have been notified via door hanger and signage. Brunswick County will provide additional information when this advisory is lifted.
