Candidate filing for Brunswick County’s 2025 nonpartisan municipal elections opens at 8:30 AM on Monday, July 7, and closes at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 18. Filing will take place at the Brunswick County Board of Elections office.
Candidates seeking election to municipal offices, sanitary district boards, or Dosher hospital district board in Brunswick County must submit a Notice of Candidacy and pay the required filing fee directly to the Board of Elections.

Candidate Eligibility Requirements
To file for office, a candidate must:
- Be at least 21 years old by Election Day (November 4, 2025)
- Be a registered voter of the municipality at the time of filing (If not registered, candidates may register when submitting their Notice of Candidacy)
- Reside within the district or ward, if the seat is elected by district or ward
- Disclose any felony convictions (A felony conviction does not disqualify a candidate if the sentence has been fully served)
