Unofficial election results will not be released until 8:30 p.m.

Board of Elections Posted on March 03, 2026

Bottom line: Unofficial election results will not be released in North Carolina until 8:30 p.m. due to extended voting hours at one precinct in Halifax County.

The Brunswick County Board of Elections will begin tabulating results at 7:30 p.m. so they are ready to release once all polls statewide have closed. This does not mean all results will be available at 8:30 p.m., as election day returns must still be delivered from polling locations.

Results tapes may be posted at polling places as required by law, but aggregated results cannot be shared until 8:30 p.m.
