BOLIVIA, N.C. – The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will meet for a regular meeting at 6 p.m. this Monday, April 15, 2024. The public is welcome to attend in person or watch live online via Zoom (details below).
The commissioners’ chambers are on the first floor of the David R. Sandifer Administration Building at 30 Government Center Drive in Bolivia (28422).

VI. Presentations
- Lineman Appreciation Proclamation 2024: Request the Board adopt the Lineman Appreciation Day proclamation as April 18, 2024.
- Proclamation for Child Abuse Prevention Month: Request the Board adopt the proclamation recognizing April as Child Abuse Awareness Month in Brunswick County.
- National Correctional Officers Week Resolution: Request the Board approve a resolution to formally recognize National Correctional Officers Week (May 5-11, 2024).
- 2024 Drinking Water Week: Request the Board recognize May 5-11, 2024, as Drinking Water Week.
VII. Public Hearings
- Finance – Water and Sewer System Development Fees: Request the Board adopt the Brunswick County Water and Sewer System Development Fee Analysis prepared by Remington & Vernick Engineers with no modifications and after addressing comments from the 45-day public review of the analysis posted on the county's website.
- Public Housing – Annual Public Hearing Public Housing Agency Goals: Request the Board conduct a public hearing to receive comments or suggestions on the Public Housing Agency’s goals, objectives, and policies.
- Planning – Proposed Brunswick County Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendment Related to Roadways in Industrial and Business Parks Planned Developments: Request that, after the public hearing, the Board consider amending the Brunswick County UDO.
- Planning – Proposed Brunswick County Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendments Related to the Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD): Request that, after the public hearing, the Board consider amending the Brunswick County UDO.
VIII. Board Appointments
- Board Appointment Board of Equalization and Review: Request the Board consider appointing one applicant to each of the Districts 2, 3, and 4 vacant seats.
Public Comment and Hearings
Most regular meetings include a time for public comment before the commissioners at the beginning of the meeting. Some meetings also have public hearings for specific issues. The public hearings are similar to a public comment period but pertain to one topic.
Individuals wishing to speak during a public hearing should sign up before the meeting starts on the form at the door dedicated to public hearings. This form is separate from the form used to sign up for public comments at the beginning of the meeting.
Speakers wishing to distribute any related documents, printed comments or materials to the commissioners should deliver at least eight copies to the county clerk at least fifteen minutes before the meeting starts.
