VI. Presentations
- Clerk to the Board – Trillium Health Resources Mid-Year Report: Trillium Health Resources would like to offer a mid-year report on Tailored Plan launch benefits and supports and Medicaid recipient data.
- Cooperative Extension – Potential County Youth Council: Request the Board hear a proposed plan to develop a County Youth Council through the NC Cooperative Extension Office with support and participation from Brunswick County staff.
- Engineering – Potential Changes to Brunswick County Stormwater Ordinance to Reduce Flooding Impacts and Stormwater Utility Information: Request the Board receive a presentation regarding potential updates to the Stormwater Ordinance and Manual and information regarding Stormwater Utilities as requested at the meeting on Oct. 21, 2024.
- Utilities – 2024 NC ONE Water Disaster Preparedness Award: Request the Board receive the NC ONE WATER Disaster Preparedness Award from the NC ONE WATER combined organization of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Water Works Association and the North Carolina Water Environment Association (NC AWWA-WEA).
- Utilities – 2024 Water Distribution System of the Year Award: Request the Board receive the Large Water Distribution System of the Year Award from NC ONE WATER.
- Utilities – NC ONE WATER Distribution System Operator of the Year: Request the Board recognize Cody Knox as the NC ONE WATER Water Distribution Operator of the Year.
VII. Administrative Report
- Administration – Bond Order for 2025 Enterprise Systems Revenue Refunding Bonds: Request the Board approve the bond order authorizing the issuance, directing the application to the Local Government Commission, and requesting Local Government Commission approval of enterprise systems revenue refunding bonds of the County Of Brunswick, North Carolina, Series 2025 (the "2025 Bonds").
- Administration – Design-Build Contract Award – Health and Human Services/Emergency Operations Center Building: Request the Board approve the design build contract, general conditions, and supplemental conditions for the purposes of designing and constructing a new Health and Human Services/Emergency Operations Center facility.
- Communications – FY23-FY27 Strategic Plan Amendment: Request the Board adopt a proposed Goal/Focus Area and related Objectives to the FY23-27 Strategic Plan based on the Board's discussion during the FY26 Strategic Planning and Goal Setting Workshop held during the regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024.
VIII. Board Appointments
- Clerk to the Board – Library Board (District 1) and Substance Use Addiction and Mental Health Commission (SUAMHC) (District 4): Request the Board consider appointing one person to the Library Board (District 1 appointee) and one person to the SUAMHC (District 4 appointee).
Public Comment and Hearings
Most regular meetings include a time for public comment before the commissioners at the beginning of the meeting. Some meetings also have public hearings for specific issues. The public hearings are similar to a public comment period but pertain to one topic.
Individuals wishing to speak during a public hearing should sign up before the meeting starts on the form at the door dedicated to public hearings. This form is separate from the form used to sign up for public comments at the beginning of the meeting.
Speakers wishing to distribute any related documents, printed comments or materials to the commissioners should deliver at least eight copies to the county clerk at least fifteen minutes before the meeting starts.
