[ARCHIVED] Save the Date: Brunswick County enCompass Training on Navigating Addiction is Saturday, Jan. 20

BOLIVIA, N.C. – Brunswick County Health Services is teaming up with local health professionals to host a free training session for community members interested in helping others navigate addiction on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024.

The training program, called enCompass, is a comprehensive resource for community members who are trying to navigate the complex world of addiction and help others achieve recovery. Like CPR/First Aid, this training equips participants with the skills to support and respond to someone who is in need.

This free, 6-hour training session is open to all interested adults in Brunswick County. The final day to register is January 5, 2024. Register for this training here.

enCompass Training Details

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Where: New Creations Worship Center (3127 George II Hwy SE, Southport, NC 28461)
  • What to Expect: Meet with addiction and recovery specialists across Brunswick County to learn more about addiction and develop skills to help your community. Participants will learn:
    • The Signs and Symptoms of Addiction
    • How to Start the Conversation
    • How to Set Healthy Boundaries
    • Information on Medications to Treat Addiction
    • How to Access Recovery Support
