Candidate filing for Brunswick County’s 2025 nonpartisan municipal elections opens today, Monday, July 7, at the Brunswick County Board of Elections office and will close at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 18.
Individuals seeking election to municipal offices, sanitary district boards, or the Dosher Hospital District Board must submit a Notice of Candidacy and pay the required filing fee directly to the Brunswick County Board of Elections.

Candidate Eligibility Requirements
To file for office, a candidate must:
- Be at least 21 years old by Election Day (November 4, 2025)
- Be a registered voter of the municipality at the time of filing (Candidates may register at the time of filing if not already registered)
- Reside within the district or ward, if the seat is elected by district or ward
- Disclose any felony convictions(A felony conviction does not disqualify a candidate if the sentence has been fully served)

An updated list of candidates who have filed for office will be posted on the 2025 Municipal Election page of the Brunswick County Board of Elections website after 5:00 PM each day during the filing period.
