Candidate filing for Brunswick County’s 2025 nonpartisan municipal elections closes tomorrow - Friday, July 18 at 12:00 PM - at the Brunswick County Board of Elections office.
Individuals seeking election to municipal offices, sanitary district boards, or the Dosher Hospital District Board must submit a Notice of Candidacy and pay the required filing fee directly to the Brunswick County Board of Elections.

Candidate Eligibility Requirements
To file for office, a candidate must:
- Be at least 21 years old by Election Day (November 4, 2025)
- Be a registered voter of the municipality at the time of filing (Candidates may register at the time of filing if not already registered)
- Reside within the district or ward, if the seat is elected by district or ward
- Disclose any felony convictions(A felony conviction does not disqualify a candidate if the sentence has been fully served)

The final list of candidates who filed for office will be posted on the 2025 Municipal Election page of the Brunswick County Board of Elections website after 12:00 PM on Friday, July 18.
