Brunswick County is accepting nominations for 2024 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award
Brunswick County is exceptional for many reasons, one being that it is a community full of great residents who seek avenues to assist others and animals in need. Now is your opportunity to nominate these exceptional volunteers for the 2024 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award! If you know an outstanding volunteer in our community, nominating them is a great way to let them know how much their work is appreciated. The County may select up to 10 recipients to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to their communities. Completed forms must be submitted by Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 (late submissions will not be eligible for review).
Brunswick County recognized with N.C. Department of Labor Safety Awards
The N.C. Department of Labor (NCDOL) presented the 2023 Safety Award to 23 Brunswick County government departments and divisions. NCDOL’s Safety Awards Program honors agencies and organizations that achieve and maintain a healthy workplace and excellent safety records. “We are honored that our safety efforts have been recognized for a second year,” Risk Manager Andy Yoos said. “Ensuring a safe work environment for our team members is Brunswick County’s top priority, and we are all proud to serve an organization that values employee safety.”
Brunswick County Health Services recently awarded Reaccreditation with Honors
Brunswick County Health Services (BCHS) successfully completed a rigorous review process to maintain state accreditation and has achieved the Reaccredited with Honors designation through the North Carolina Local Health Department (NCLHD) Accreditation Board.
County health officials formally accepted the achievement on May 19, 2023, during the NCLHD Accreditation Board meeting in Raleigh. Brunswick County was among 11 agencies to earn Reaccreditation with Honors. BCHS will hold its accreditation status through 2027.
