Volunteer resources and contacts to help post-Hurricane Dorian

BOLIVIA, N.C. – Brunswick County Emergency Services coordinates offers for donations and volunteer assistance with the Brunswick County Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD).

Questions about who to contact for help, how to volunteer or how to donate items? Contact Emergency Services Volunteer and Nonprofit Coordinator Leslie Stanley for direction to the appropriate VOAD agency or county department based on your needs.

A list of VOAD partner organizations that may be able to assist residents with unmet and construction needs post-Hurricane Dorian is available at https://www.brunswickcountync.gov/voad/

Based on the level of impact to Brunswick County, VOAD anticipates that its available resources are enough to serve the areas affected by Hurricane Dorian. VOAD is thankful to everyone who has reached out to offer help.

Notice is hereby given that the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on September 16, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Chambers of the David R. Sandifer Administration Building located at 30 Government Center Drive NE at the Brunswick County Government Center concerning the following rezoning:

 

REQUEST:             CHANGE OF ZONING – ZONING CASE Z-781

 

FROM:                    C-I (COMMERCIAL INTENSIVE)

 

TO:                         SBR-6000 (HIGH DENSITY SITE BUILT RESIDENTIAL)

 

LOCATION:            LOCATED TO THE WEST OF HEART LOOP ROAD NE AND OLD FOREST ROAD NE INTERSECTION AND THE ADJACENT RAILROAD TRACKS NEAR LELAND, NC.

 

TAX PARCELS:      0460006004

 

DESCRIPTION:      THE APPLICANT REQUESTED TAX PARCEL 0460006004 BE REZONED TO SBR-6000.  THE ENTIRE REZONING AREA ENCOMPASSES APPROX. 30.24 ACRES.
