Brunswick County Schools 6th & 11th Grade Immunizations

03.16.2023

As we move closer to the end of this school year, we are pleased to announce Brunswick County Health Services in conjunction with Brunswick County Schools will be offering in-school vaccinations for 6th and 11th grade students. This is an opportunity for you to get ahead on next year’s school immunization requirements (10A NCAC 41A .0401).

-Tdap and Meningococcal vaccine are required for students entering the 7th grade-A Meningococcal vaccine booster is required for students entering the 12th grade

During the month of April and May, this opportunity will be available to 6th and 11th grade students who have not already received the Tdap or meningococcal vaccine. Brunswick County Health Services nurses will administer the vaccines only to students who have signed permission forms.

We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. If you would like your child/children to participate in the school vaccination clinics, return the permission forms to your child’s school. Usually, individuals with insurance will not have any out-of-pocket cost. We will file your insurance and if you (parent/guardian) are responsible for a co-pay or deductible, we will bill you. Students that are underinsured or have no insurance can qualify for state supplied vaccine at no cost. You must fill out the insurance section on the permission form. The parent/guardian will be responsible for any costs not covered by insurance. For billing questions and concerns, please call 910-253-2259 or 910-253-2316. If you have any questions, please call your child’s school nurse, or you may contact Stacie Holmes, Lead Nurse Immunization Program at Brunswick County Health Services — stacie.holmes@brunswickcountync.gov,
