Brunswick County Treatment Courts awarded $975,000 grant

Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Ola M. Lewis, Dr. Carrie Menke, Mental Health Court Coordinator and Michelle Ingram, Trial Court Coordinator are pleased to announce on behalf of the Brunswick County Treatment Courts that the Treatment Courts have been awarded a grant by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in the amount of $975,000. The grant will be distributed over a three-year period.

“This is an awesome opportunity for the citizens of Brunswick County,” said Judge Lewis. “The grant will allow the Treatment Courts to expand in terms of participants and services provided. This means greater treatment opportunities, continued reduced rates of recidivism and safer communities.”

Lewis stated further, “We wish to extend a hearty ‘Thank you’ to the Brunswick County Commissioners, Sheriff John Ingram, County Manager Ann Hardy, Tiffany Rogers, Christina Kennedy and all those of the County Finance Department. They are instrumental in the phenomenal success of our programs.”
