Complete your Blueprint Brunswick 2040 survey by Monday, Feb. 15

MEDIA RELEASE

BOLIVIA, N.C. – There’s only one week left to complete the Blueprint Brunswick 2040 survey—respond soon to join the more than 2,400 people who have already shared their thoughts on what kind of development and recreational opportunities they want to see in Brunswick County over the next 20 years.

Anyone who lives in, works in, or frequently visits Brunswick County is encouraged to participate in the Blueprint Brunswick 2040 initiative. Participants have commented on a number of topics so far, ranging from affordable housing, indoor recreational facilities, parks, traffic, infrastructure, flooding and more.

The survey will remain open through Monday, Feb. 15 at BlueprintBrunswick2040.com

Individuals who cannot use the internet can also contact staff to request a paper copy of the survey or provide comments over the phone or via email (see contact information below).

“The input from these surveys is an instrumental part of our efforts to craft Brunswick County’s next Comprehensive Land Use Plan and a Parks and Recreation Master Plan,” Planning Director Kirstie Dixon said. “As Brunswick County continues to grow in terms of population and economic development, we want to make sure our plans reflect the size and evolving needs of our community.”

Over the past several months, staff and the project consultants have organized several in-person and virtual community meetings and focus groups to collect input countywide. The survey, which consists of 28 questions and takes about 20 minutes to complete, is another tool to collect as much feedback as possible from county residents and businesses.

“We’re really encouraged to see the level of participation we have received so far,” Parks and Recreation Director Aaron Perkins said. “We hope this one final push will encourage as many people as possible to share their thoughts as we continue to work on drafting these two essential plans.”

While the survey will close Feb. 15, there are still plenty of opportunities to participate in the Blueprint Brunswick 2040 initiative on the horizon, including community meetings to discuss the draft plans and an art contest for local youth.

“We are excited to partner with the Brunswick Arts Council to engage our students in voicing their thoughts on their vision for our county,” Dixon said. “Be on the lookout for information in the near future about how to participate in our upcoming Blueprint Brunswick 2040 programs.”
