Brunswick County adds pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic this Friday in Winnabow, offers additional opportunities for pediatric vaccines later this month
BOLIVIA, N.C. – Brunswick County Health Services is adding a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic this Friday, Nov. 12 at Town Creek Park in Winnabow to offer anyone aged 12 and up another opportunity to get vaccinated. The Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine for children aged 5-11 will not be offered at this pop-up clinic.
Appointments are not necessary at the pop-up clinic. COVID-19 vaccines are free and insurance is not required.
Health Services will have all three vaccine types—Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and J&J—at the pop-up clinic. Vaccinations will be available for all community members aged 12 and older, however those aged 17 or younger are only eligible for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
The additional third doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna (mRNA) vaccines for moderately to severely immunocompromised people, and booster shots for people aged 65 and up or 18-64 that meet qualifications will also be available at the pop up clinic.

If the event is moved indoors due to weather, the clinic will follow the state guidelines for a clinical setting and require everyone to wear masks.

Community members can still book appointments for the drive-thru clinic in Shallotte (ages 12 and up only) and for pediatric vaccines at Brunswick County Health Services’ main clinic in Bolivia (ages 5-11 only). Book online or call the Public Health Call Line to schedule an appointment:

In addition to the Monday-Friday pediatric vaccine clinic, Health Services will offer appointments at the main clinic for the 5-11 age group on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and an extended clinic on Tuesday, Nov. 30 until 6 p.m.
Health Services requires written permission from a parent/legal guardian to administer vaccines to those aged 5-15. If someone else brings your child to their appointment, complete a consent form to send with them. Click here to download consent form (available in English and Spanish/Español).
Appointments are still required at the Shallotte drive-thru and main clinic and must be made either online or over the phone. The clinic in Bolivia cannot schedule your vaccination in person.
The main vaccination clinic will follow the state guidelines for a clinical setting and require everyone to wear masks.
Insurance is not required for a vaccine, but you are encouraged to bring your ID and insurance cards to the clinic, if available.
