Deputy County Manager David Stanley

David Stanley has served as Deputy County Manager for Brunswick County since February 2021 and has oversight responsibility for the County’s Public Health, Social Services, Public Housing, and Veteran Services departments, and serves as liaison to county nonprofits. Prior to his appointment as deputy county manager, David served Brunswick County in several positions over the past 25 years, most recently as the Health and Human Services executive director and Public Health director.

David has a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina–Wilmington and a Master of Public Health Administration from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill. David appreciates the insight that comes from serving on the following boards and associations: Trillium Southern Regional Advisory Board; Cape Fear Continuum of Care Advisory Board; the North Carolina Local Public Health Accreditation Board; the North Carolina Association of Local Health Directors; the North Carolina Association of Social Services Directors; and the East Carolina School of Dentistry Advisory Board.

As a Brunswick County native, David has enjoyed watching the community thrive and values his time working with residents. David and his wife, Leslie, have four children and enjoy the numerous benefits of being Brunswick County residents.
