Welcome to the Brunswick County Fire Marshal’s Office
The Brunswick County Fire Marshal’s Office issues construction and operational permits, preforms construction related inspections and plan reviews, attends pre-construction and technical review meetings, conducts fire inspections of existing commercial and common areas of multi-family buildings, and assist fire departments within Brunswick County with cause and origin fire investigations in conjunction with other local, state, and federal agency partners.
On-call fire marshal staff provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to and investigate fires, illegal open burning, and provide additional requested support services to fire departments within Brunswick County. Our on-call staff are available after hours to investigate reports of life-threatening or dangerous situations involving fire code violations.
Our fire inspectors are certified by the State of North Carolina Code Qualification Board and work closely with other city, county, and state agencies to ensure code compliance and provide technical assistance in the application, enforcement, and interpretation of codes and standards.
