Brunswick County is required to enforce the North Carolina State Building Code: Fire Prevention Code and referenced fire protection standards. All State codes are administered by the Brunswick County Code Administration Department.
The 2018 North Carolina State Building Code: Fire Prevention Code (based on the 2015 International Code) was adopted by the North Carolina Building Code Council on June 13, 2017 to be effective on January 1, 2019. The 2012 Codes are also valid during this transition period through December 31, 2018. The available regulations are listed below.
