Food and Nutrition Assistance
Food and Nutrition programs offer assistance with purchasing nutritional food to qualifying individuals or families.
- Food and Nutrition Services: Food and Nutrition Services, frequently referred to as Food Stamps, offers monthly financial allotments to families within the United States poverty guidelines to help end hunger and improve nutrition and health. - WIC: Women, Infants and Children, or WIC, provides supplemental food, nutritional counseling, breastfeeding support and access to health services to low-income pregnant or breastfeeding women, infants and children up to their fifth birthday. Find more information, or apply in person at Brunswick County Health Services, the Shallotte WIC office (150-9 Holden Beach Road in the East Gate Plaza), or the Leland WIC office (1492 Village Road NE in the Family Resource Center).
