Scheduled Water Outage Advisory RESCINDED - E. Main St., Sunset Beach

Based on the findings of the laboratory analysis of water samples collected on 02.27.2026, Brunswick County Public Utilities water users located at:
- E. Main St. (addresses – 2, 4, 8, 101 through 508, and 602)
- 6th St. (addresses – 435 & 438)
Sunset Beach are hereby notified that it is no longer necessary to boil water or use bottled water for human consumption. The system has resumed normal operation. Customers have been notified by Utilities News Flash and ReadyBrunswick.

02.26.2026- Scheduled Water Outage – E. Main St., Sunset Beach

Due to storm water drainage improvements, Brunswick County water customers in the East Main St. area, Sunset Beach will be out of service beginning at 09:00 am on 02.26.2026 to allow for the construction activities to be conducted. Service is expected to be restored before 5:00 pm on 02.26.2026. This outage affects the addresses listed below:
- E. Main St. (addresses – 2, 4, 8, 101 through 508, and 602)
- 6th St. (addresses – 435 & 438)
Consumers will need to store water in containers during this outage, as water service will be temporarily turned off during this time. Please note that multiple fire hydrants will be out of service during this time. Once water has been restored, Brunswick County Public Utilities and the NC Division of Water Resources advise consumers to boil all water or use bottled water for human consumption until further notice. Consumption includes drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
Forty-six (46) residential connections will be affected. Customers have been notified by News Flash and ReadyBrunswick. Brunswick County will provide additional information when this advisory is lifted.
