Scheduled Water Outage Advisory RESCINDED – E. Main Street & 4th Street, Sunset Beach

Based on the findings of the laboratory analysis of water samples collected on 01.14.2026, Brunswick County Public Utilities water users located at:

 

  • East Main Street  (addresses - 2 through 602)
  • Fourth Street  (addresses - 401 through 438)
  • North Shore Drive East  (address - 308)
  • Sunset Blvd. South  (address - 435)

 

Sunset Beach are hereby notified that it is no longer necessary to boil water or use bottled water for human consumption. The system has resumed normal operation. Customers have been notified by News Flash and ReadyBrunswick.

01.14.2026 - Scheduled Water Outage – East Main Street & Fourth Street, Sunset Beach

Due to scheduled maintenance, Brunswick County water customers along East Main Street and Fourth Street, Sunset Beach, will be out of service beginning at 9:00 am on 01.14.2026 to allow for the work to be accomplished. Service is expected to be restored before 5:00 pm on 01.14.2026. This outage affects the addresses listed below:

  • East Main Street  (addresses - 2 through 602)
  • Fourth Street  (addresses - 401 through 438)
  • North Shore Drive East  (address - 308)
  • Sunset Blvd. South  (address - 435)

 

Consumers will need to store water in containers during this outage, as water service will be temporarily turned off during this time. Please note that multiple fire hydrants will be out of service during this time. Once water has been restored, Brunswick County Public Utilities and the NC Division of Water Resources advise consumers to boil all water or use bottled water for human consumption until further notice. Consumption includes drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

 

Eighty-nine (89) residential and commercial connections will be affected. Customers have been notified by the Town of Sunset Beach and ReadyBrunswick. Brunswick County will provide additional information when this advisory is lifted.
