Water Management Control
The Operation Services Water Management Department investigates and remediates mosquito breeding throughout Brunswick County.
All remediation projects must comply with state and federal guidelines, including:
- North Carolina Division of Water Quality Guidelines
- North Carolina Division of Coastal Management Guidelines
- North Carolina Division of Land Resources Guidelines
- United States Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory Division Guidelines
Occasionally the Water Management Division receives inquiries about Beaver problems. Beavers can become a recurring problem in the streams and tributaries of Brunswick County. To address the problems of tree damage and flooding caused by beavers, Brunswick County has a cooperative program to address beaver control. This program facilitates communication between landowners and local, licensed beaver trappers. Requests for assistance addressing threats to public safety are given the highest priority followed by privately owned property. There is no cost to landowners for this service. If you are a Brunswick County landowner and need assistance in trapping beavers or are a licensed trapper that would like to be added to our list, please contact Brunswick County Operation Services at 910-253-2508 or mosquitocontrol@brunswickcountync.gov Brunswick County will facilitate the process of finding a licensed trapper to assist landowners.
