The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 3:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as it may be reached, in the Commissioners Chambers located in the David R. Sandifer Building, 30 Government Center Drive, NE, Bolivia, NC.  The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments regarding a proposed economic development incentive for Brunswick Business & Industry Development.

The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners proposes to appropriate and expend county funds for the following economic development project pursuant to Section 158-7.1 of the General Statutes of North Carolina.  Brunswick Business & Industry Development plans to assist Brunswick-Columbus International Park, Inc. located on the southside of NC Highways 74/76 with the construction of an access road into the park. Brunswick County has received a request to assist with this access road in the amount of $400,000.

Funds will be used to construct an access road to the above noted property.  Improvements involves construction of a public access road to serve to serve Parcel #01400008.  This parcel is located in the northwest portion of Brunswick County, NC.  The access road will run from NC Highways 74/76 southerly approximately 770’.  Public benefit of constructing the access road will provide access into an industrial park under development with the intent of increasing the industrial tax base and employment opportunities within Brunswick County.

If approved, the County will fund the request with available revenues in the County’s General Fund.
