Volunteer resources and contacts to help post-Hurricane Dorian


BOLIVIA, N.C. – Brunswick County Emergency Services coordinates offers for donations and volunteer assistance with the Brunswick County Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD).

Questions about who to contact for help, how to volunteer or how to donate items? Contact Emergency Services Volunteer and Nonprofit Coordinator Leslie Stanley for direction to the appropriate VOAD agency or county department based on your needs.

A list of VOAD partner organizations that may be able to assist residents with unmet and construction needs post-Hurricane Dorian is available at

Based on the level of impact to Brunswick County, VOAD anticipates that its available resources are enough to serve the areas affected by Hurricane Dorian. VOAD is thankful to everyone who has reached out to offer help.

Under and by virtue of an Order of the District Court of Brunswick County, North Carolina, made and entered in the action entitled “County of Brunswick vs. Lewis Norris,” the undersigned commissioner will on the 8th day of March, 2019, offer for sale and sell for cash, to the last and highest bidder at public auction, at the courthouse door in Brunswick County, North Carolina, in Bolivia at 12:00 noon the following described real property, lying and being in the State and County aforesaid, and more particularly described as follows:

PARCEL # 1410002203:

Section 16-Y   Lot 114

BEGINNING at an iron on the western right-of-way of Seagull Road, said point being south 36 degrees 30 minutes west 398.64 feet and south 46 degrees 41 minutes west 699.56 feet from the southern right-of-way of Pine Road, thence from the beginning, south 36 degrees 30 minutes west 154.32 feet to an iron, thence north 39 degrees 08 minutes west 290 feet to an iron, thence north 36 degrees 30 minutes east 154.32 feet to an iron, thence south 39 degrees 08 minutes east 290 feet to the BEGINNING, being Lot 114 as shown on plat entitled, “Part 1, Section 16-Y, Boiling Spring Lakes,” which is to be recorded at a later date.

The sale will be made subject to all outstanding city and county taxes and all local improvement assessments against the above-described property not included in the judgment in the above-entitled cause.  A deposit of 5 percent of the successful bid will be required.
