NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
At its November 15, 2021 meeting, the Board of Commissioners (the “Board of Commissioners”) of the County of Brunswick, North Carolina (the “County”), adopted a resolution which:
- Authorized the County to proceed to refinance the County’s installment payments under an Installment Financing Contract between Brunswick County Leasing Corporation and the County dated as of March 15, 2012 (the “2012 Contract”), the proceeds of which were used to refinance prior contracts which had financed (1) the acquisition, construction, equipping and furnishing of a new County Law Enforcement/Detention Center, (2) renovations and additions to Bolivia Elementary, Union Elementary and South Brunswick Middle Schools (3) acquisition of land for, construction, furnishing and equipping of Town Creek Elementary School and (4) acquisition of land for, construction, furnishing and equipping of Cedar Grove Middle School (collectively, the “Projects”);
- Authorized the County to proceed through an amendment (the “Amendment”) to the 2012 Contract, which will be secured by an existing deed of trust (the “2012 Deed of Trust”) on Town Creek Elementary School and Cedar Grove Middle School (and collectively with the improvements thereon, the “Mortgaged Property”). The Town Creek Elementary School is located at 6330 Lake Park Drive SE, Winnabow, North Carolina The Cedar Grove Middle School is located at 750 Grove Trail SW, Supply, North Carolina 28462.
On payment by the County of all installment payments due under the Amendment, the lien created by the 2012 Deed of Trust will terminate and the County’s title to the Mortgaged Property will be unencumbered.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 160A-20 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, that on December 6, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers, the David R. Sandifer Administration Building, 30 Government Center Drive NE, Bolivia, North Carolina, a public hearing will be conducted concerning the approval of the execution and delivery of the Amendment and the County’s refinancing of the Projects. All interested parties are invited to present comments at the public hearing regarding the execution and delivery of the Amendment and the Projects to be financed thereby.
