Brunswick County Public Utilities is performing routine maintenance at the 211-Water Treatment Plant near St. James. Water customers in the St. James and Southport areas may experience periods of lower than usual pressure, especially during peak demand times. Peak demand for water is between 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Brunswick County would like to ask water customers to be diligent in using water wisely. This project is expected to be completed ahead of Memorial Day weekend.
Brunswick County Public Utilities suggests you defer all non-essential water use to outside the peak demand hours, preferably after nightfall. Don’t over-water your yard. Install rain shut-off devices on automatic sprinkler systems. Using the following recommended irrigation schedule will help even out system demands.
Odd address numbers – Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday
Even address numbers – Wednesday/Friday/Sunday
No irrigation on Mondays
