A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the coastal waters of Brunswick County. A Flood Watch is in effect for Brunswick County

Most Brunswick County operations and services will continue as usual at this time except for the following changes:

  • Brunswick County Parks will close early at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22
  • All Brunswick County Parks and Recreation youth events are canceled for the weekend (Sept. 23-24)

The North Carolina Underground Damage Prevention Act (North Carolina General Statute Chapter 87 Article 8) requires anyone commencing excavations in highways, public spaces, or in private easements of utility owners to notify each utility owner at least two business days before starting the work.  Brunswick County is a member of North Carolina 811, Inc. (NC811), a non-profit corporation formed for the purpose of receiving notification from excavators.
