System Pressure Advisory- Calabash
Posted 01.11.2024
The water consumers of Brunswick County Public Utilities located at Beach Drive between 10124 and 10283 along with 891 to 899 MH Marina Road (excluding the Stack Shacks) in Calabash, are experiencing periods of low water pressure and outages caused by a main line break.
Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back-siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system. Therefore, Brunswick County Public Utilities and the NC Division of Water Resources advise that consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued. Approximately eighty (80) connections have been affected, both residential and commercial. Affected customers have been notified via door hanger.
This advisory has been issued on 1/11/2024 by Adam Sellers of Brunswick County Public Utilities. Please contact 910.253.2657 with any additional questions or concerns.
