Based on the findings of the laboratory analysis of water samples collected on 6/19/2024, the water consumers of Brunswick County Public Utilities located at 253 to 283 Smith Ave and 5007 to 5065 Northside Drive in Shallotte are hereby notified that it is no longer necessary to boil water or use bottled water for human consumption. The system has resumed normal operation. Affected customers have been notified via door hanger and ReadyBrunswick.
Please note that 5080 Northside Drive and all addresses on Arnold Street remain under a system pressure advisory.

Due to fire hydrant repair work, the water consumers of Brunswick County Public Utilities located at 253 to 283 Smith Ave and all addresses on Arnold St and Northside Dr in Shallotte will be out of service on 6/19/2024 from approximately 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Consumers will need to store water in containers during this outage, as water service will be temporarily turned off during this time.
Once water has been restored, Brunswick County Public Utilities and the NC Division of Water Resources advise consumers to boil all water or use bottled water for human consumption until further notice. Consumption includes drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
Six (6) commercial connections and ten (10 ) residential customers will be affected. Affected customers will be notified via door hanger and ReadyBrunswick. Brunswick County will provide additional information when this advisory is lifted.
